Story

Since the time of Langrisser I, when the evil sword Alhazard and the Crusaders of Chaos were resealed, a hundred years have passed. There is no longer a Baldea Kingdom to continue protecting Langrisser, and Langrisser has faded to a sword of legend once again.

The Rayguard Empire's Kaiser Bernhardt obtained Alhazard after a search, and then launched invasions on all territories of the continent. He seeks to unify the continent, so that he can declare a permanent peace.

After the true power sealed in Alhazard is released, the dreams of many kings will be broken as Emperor Bernhardt achieves his great ambition of Unity of the Continent. However, behind the scenes, since the underlying aspirations of Prince of Darkness Böser and Alhazard are involved, as a result, the battle for Unity of the Continent that Bernhardt commenced involves not only the empire, but also the Crusaders of Chaos, who try to advance the three-way war that also involves the Descendants of Light.

Mage Hein continues his travels, meeting the young man Erwin, descendant of Ledin. As he returns to his hometown for a short visit, both Hein and Erwin are drawn into the eddy of a war in which they never thought a country of their size would be involved.

Multimedia Test: Select a slot on the load screen and press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Select, I.

Scenario Select: Select a slot on the load screen and press Right, Down, Up, Left, VI, V, IV, Select, III, I. Press Up and Down to select a scenario and Start to select it.

Secret Shop: From the equipment screen, highlight Buy and press Up, Left, Right, Down, Right, Right, I. You will be able to purchase most of the items in the game.

Super Secret Shop: From the equipment screen, highlight Buy and press Left, Up, Down, Right, Left, Select, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Select, I. You will be able to purchase any item in the game.

Omake Hard Mode: Beat the game once to unlock Der Langrisser FX Hard Mode, and extra subset of more challenging scenarios selected from Light Path 1 - 12. The enemies are more difficult, less EXP is available and the dialogue has been turned into a comedy about the heroes' quest for Langrisser, the holy booze.

Two-Player Mode: Beat the Omake Hard Mode to unlock an extra hidden scenario with infinite turns. The scenario is commander only and pits one player's Lushiris and army of light against Chaos, his monsters and the Rayguard Empire. Players must share one controller and pass it out at the end of each turn. The game ends when Lushiris or Chaos dies.
